Easier content sharing
many of our users have years of Astaro experience, and have often asked to share that knowledge. Until now, there's been no easy way for them to do this outside of the forums. Forum posts can quickly get lost, but the knowledgebase is designed to archive useful information in a way that it can be easily found by others. It makes sense to provide a way for anyone who has informationto share, to be able to do so.
New Hardware Compatability List
Astaro has been working to expand our list of tested and known compatible hardware. The new home for this list will be here. A new and more searchable list will make it easier for users to choose compatible hardware, to run Astaro on their own platform.
Single source of information
Astaro has a number of islands of information. Each of these are disconnected from each other, and searching one site won't reveal information stored in another. The longer term goal for this site is to make it the central point of information search. Step one is the Knowledgebase and new, expanded hardware compatability list.
New Features
- New HCL - The new hardware compatibility list adds both features and content to the existing list. As part of a new system, where Astaro continues to push forward our list of supported hardware, backend automated test processes feed new supported hardware info automatically, into an easily searchable frontend.
- Improved Search - Using highly capable search engine technology, Article search results are more relevant than ever.
- Improved navigation - Instead of burying artilces deep inside a treeview navigation structure, articles from multiple levels are shown in an explorable manner, when browsing each category.
- Article to PDF - Easily convert any article into a PDF document, by clicking on the PDF icon, at the top of the page.
- Article to Email - Easily email yourself any article you find, that you wish to keep for later. If you want to forward an article to a colleague, you can then easily forward it from your local mail client.
- User Submitted Article Creation - Now, anyone with knowledge who wants to share, can create articles themselves.Using our new article certification process, users can create articles and share them immediately. To maintain the trustability of existing articles, user created articles will be titled "User Contributed:", until they have been reviewed and confirmed as accurate by Astaro engineers.
- MyAstaro login support- You can re-use existing MyAstaro credentials to gain access to features such as article to email, and article creation.
