Who is using the astaro.org forums?

Hello,

Every time I visit astaro.org I am amazed how active and constructive the astaro.org community is. We would love to better understand who is active here. Thanks for your help.

    I'm a free home license user.  I originally tried ASG in the early days of v7 about 2.5 years ago, but abandoned it at the time because the 10-address limit on the free home license was too small for our home network.  When I heard that the limit had been raised to 50 addresses recently, I returned to the fold.

    Love the product, and can't beat the price.  I'm sure Astaro's hope is that folks who use the free license will end up evangelizing for their product, and that's certainly the case with me.  I've put a couple of coworkers on to it already, and if I ever wind up doing some more consulting, or working for a smaller company again, I'll certainly be espousing the benefits of Astaro.

    I've been around since around v1.7 I believe "back when the ISO was on Sourceforge" I liked it tremendously and convinced my Boss to pursue running down the path towards becoming a partner.  Back then I was looking for a replacement for the now dead Symantec I-Gear, yay it's dead.

    So here I am lowbie post count but dropping my $0.02 in every now and again.

    been around since v5 I think.
    Was looking for a better time managed system which eventually came along.

    I inherit the administration of three ASG 6.2xx HA-systems when I started in my current job three years back and today we have six ASG systems 4 which is runs v7.504 and unfortunatly two is still on the old ASG 6 platform - all software version running on Dell PowerEdge servers PE 1850/1950. [:(] Working hard on replacing the old 6.3xx boxes.

    Personally I just got a Jetway ITX card with an Atom 330 (see signature) for my own place and one for my dads place - they run Home licence, my dads box will stay on 7.5xx until 8 is final, but mine isn't - I'm about to install the v8 beta on mine now (7.902).

    Found out about Astaro around a year ago. Wanted to try it but got involved in other projects and just recently got back into it. Have been using the free home license for about 2 months now and am quite happy with it.

    I have been around since v1.8. I think we bought our first license at work with v3.

    I currently have at work 4 ASG 220, 2 ASG 120 appliances, plus have several customers who have some appliances as well. About to add some more 220s.

    In my home lab I have a 220 and a 120, plus a couple Virtual editions.

    My takeaway: Excl. the Astaro employees 80% are partners/customers and 20% are home users.
