[solved][7.504]interface PPPoE

Hi All

I just wanted to share the following configuration with you and ask for your assistance. I am thinking of using 1483 Bridged IP LLC encapsulation on my DSL router and then connecting to my Astaro via PPPoE. I've read couple of forums and it should work.What I want to achieve is my DSL modem will act as bridge modem and then my ASG will get the real ip.

Any feedback will be appreciated [:)]

My DSL modem has the following options:

PPPoA/PPPoE
==================
PPPoE LLC
PPPoE VC MUX
PPPoA LLC
PPPoA VC MUX
There is option to Bridge the interface when selecting one of the above(pic attached)

Bridged Mode
==================
1483 Bridged IP LLC
1483 Bridged VC-MUX

Are there any current issues with version 7.504 and PPPoE/PPPoA? I know MTU should be set to 1492

    I had a look and everything works fine with PPPoE and 1483 Bridged IP LLC. The same settings didn't work when I tried back on version 7.4x [:)]

    so now I am happy  [:D]

    However, I would like to be able to see the sync speed as I am not able to do it on the DSL bridged modem anymore [:(]
    is there a way to view this information (Web page of DSL router is not functional anymore)

    my complaint as well. A couple of my modems only have one port, so I have to disconnect the ASG to see what is happening. The others have an alternate access connection where I can connect my laptop in, but otherwise nothing.

    You can't even setup an alternate IP address on the external interface that works. You can set one up, but it doesn't talk to the modem, tried any number of alternatives.

    I suppose if a number of us who use ADSL PPPoE interface were to submit a request for a method in the ASG to access the modem it might be included. The suggestion probably would get a high priority if it is seen as an aid to the commercial side of ASG, rather just home users.

    Why someone to do this?What is the benefit?
