Monioring a UPS in order to shutdown gracefully?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of configuring the ASG to monitor a UPS (which would be providing the ASG's power) and shut down the ASG when the UPS battery level gets low?

I have just purchased a couple of Netgear ReadyNAS devices, which run a very cut down linux, and they have this ability built-in.  Projects such as NUT have been around for a while, and would probably be easily integrated into the ASG.  In my opinion, this would be a very useful feature for a core network device to have, especially one with a hard disk that could easily suffer damage from a non-graceful shutdown.

Before I go poking around to see if I can get NUT or apcupsd working, it would be great to hear people's thoughts on the subject.

Thanks!
