Can't Surf when downloading a Torrent

Hello all.

I donno where to really post this question, so i am posting it here


Basicly what happens is when i start to download a torrent or upload one, surfing the net or any other kinda internet activity is halted.

Now i am pointing my finger at Concurent Connections being at it's limit per IP address. Now here is another question? How do i go about upping that limit?

    Hi,

    You mention configuring the http proxy for utorrent traffic, but have you created a dnat rule for the port your bittorrent port?

    Normally to configure a bittorrent client you need a packet filter rule to allow bittorrent traffic out and a dnat rule and packet filter rule to allow the traffic in. There are some threads that have detailed instructions on creating these rules if you are insure.

    Yes i have a DNAT rule and a Packet filter

    Ok, Looks like i had some config errors on my astaro box.

    DNS was configed wrong it seems.




    I'm tired, let me wake up and I will post my findings [:P]

    Did you resolve this? I get exactly the same issue - as soon as I start a torrent I cannot browse the web ( not even to the Astaro web management interface )

    It's not the machine I am on ( a MacBook and Transmission/Safari ) as it's all OK if I tunnel the connection via a VPN through the Astaro gateway, but directly via the Astaro it grinds to a halt.

    ( Adding a little more to the above the problem is only when downloading a torrent - when seeding everything is OK. )
