hi, everyone I really appreciate any help to set up this new firewall, I have installed successfully the software on sempron based system with 2 network cards and I can access the admin pages using default values, my modem is a Netgear all on one modem with default ip address 10.1.1.1  the problem i'm having is not sure which ip address to use on the uplink Ethernet card to link to the internet, as when I open a browser in my client pc say no page found, i wanted to know if my modem router has DHCP and the ISP assigned Ip address starting with 110.32.***.*** and DNS setting 211.31.13x.***
and 211.31.13x.*** respectively, what should I do in this case to set up the uplink Ethernet correctly, my modem uses PPOE connection to the ISP. TIA

    Dear AngeloC, you were very helpful in explaining to me some of the settings, I have managed to get this working yesterday after giving up last time, now I set the same machine with the same modem router the Netgear with Default gateway IP 10.1.1.1 and it worked when I chose Cable Modem Instead of basic Ethernet or DSL.

    This what I did During Installation I have chosen IP address 
    192.168.1.1 for admin and the default gateway 10.1.1.1. on eth1
    when accessing webadmin at https://192.168.1.1:4444 I run the Wizard and for uplink I chose eth2 with cable modem option.

    note I have loaded the latest version of ASG 7.5 the modem router is acting as DHCP and Firewall and switch.
    now with this setting it worked I was able to access the net.
