I'm not sure I understand what's going on in this thread. If you change the name of a group from any place you are allowed to edit it, that change is universal, and is reflected everywhere the group is used. That's because the "real" name of all objects is "REF_" plus a random sequence of characters. You cannot change the "real" name, but you always can change the identifier you assign to the object.
If you want to see this in action, create a netowrk definition leaving the 'Name' field empty. When you press Save, you'll find that the Astaro used the "real" name in that field, for exmple, REF_tZICEkXTMi. Copy and paste that name somewhere to save it, and rename the Network to "_Test". Now, go to 'Support >> Advanced' 'Resolve REF_' and paste the saved name into the resolve field.

OK. Perhaps i wasn't precise enough. I didn't mean the groups one can create in definitions. I mean the groups , you "can" add a "Packet Filter" rule to. For example, i added a rule, that is called "internet" , where i allow some IP to use "http" and "https". In addition, i may choose to add this rule to a new "group" i can create and the same time or to an existing group. And this group's name is what i want to change.
