WebAdmin intermittently not responding

Every so often, my Astaro box seems to slow to a crawl. When this happens, I'm unable to log in to WebAdmin to see what is going on and restart the machine. The page either stops at the "Please wait, logging in" stage or it tells me I have an invalid username/password. Sometimes, I'm able to log in after I stop all traffic on the network. More often than not, the only solution is to do a hard reset on the box.

I'm running 7.501 with only Firewall, POP3 Proxy, AntiVirus and Antispam turned on. The hardware reports show nothing unusual since the problem started (about two months ago) compared to the previous 10 months. If anything, memory and swap utilization seems to be lower now than before.

Any thoughts?

    The next time this occurs, see if you can run top from the console or ssh to see what process is eating CPU cycles.  If I were going to guess, I'd suspect a dying hard drive or controller and that the process locking things up is PostgreSQL.
