Astaro Instead of Tippingpoint

Hello All,

In our network we have Tipping point. But this device will do only IPS,and license cost for each year is huge. So we are going to replace this with Astaro. I do have some concerns about this new device.

1.Is it possible to make different profiles Like Employee,Student,DMZ ?
2.Whether Astaro can prevent HttpTunnels like ULTRAREACH ?
3.How many manageable IPS can assign to control this device through web ?
4.Will it do the jobs of Microsoft ISA ?
5.Can I integrate astaro with my existing Active Directory

    2. I am not familiar with ultrareach but yes it has successfully stopped tunneling.
    3. I don't understand your question. You can not add your own IPS rules currently. This is suppose to be coming in the future.

    I do a lot with schools and all have been very happy with it. Just make sure that whoever your reseller is sizes the box properly. That is the number one problem that I have heard. Make sure that you plan for future growth as well.

    I think, for #3, the question might be can the IP's that manage the Astaro device be restricted?

    Yes, you can restrict the IP addresses that are able to address the firewall to any you want to use.  You can also limit sub-admin rights, and multiple admins can be logged in at the same time.  There is also an SSH command line interface, and you can restrict usage to that as well.
