Deanonymizing Users

Hi there,

how does this feature work in detail? 
As seen on a webcast the deanonymizing-feature should randomize the USER_xyz after it has been revealed. When does that happen? At midnight when in rotates the logfiles?

    If you choose to anonymize, the information in those reports will be anonymized.  The deanonymizer is used for getting the real name/IP of the individual on the reports.

    That wasn't the question  [:)] I know how to deanonymize the reports but then you are able to say USER_123 = Marcel_Germany so Astaro is randomizing the Usernames everytime you use the deanonymizer. But WHEN does that happen - that's the question.

    The Anonymization Mapping is created when the data get inserted in the database or when you enable anonymization and they never changes.

    I apologize, Marcel.  I was too brief - I knew you knew what I wrote, but I didn't understand your question.  Gert didn't mention it, but I believe the logfiles are not anonymized, only the PostgreSQL database.
