astaro versus modem

Its a matter of opinion only
Any guesses or suggestions are welcome.

Im facing a weird problem to one of our client.
Before I start Im using ASG320 running on version 7.405.
Last thursday,I started to implement astaro to one of our client,before I started my configuration basically it will start on assigning ip addresses on each interfaces eth0 (private network) and eth1 (global from ISP).assigning default gateway and DNS,I configured also for NAT and Packet Filter settings,well everything seems fine.
Once I started to PING from astaro I cant ping my ISP DNS except to the gateway of our clients ISP.
To have some basis I started to connect my laptop directly to ISP modem and configured perfectly the ip address I used to my astaro public interface.
Weird things is I CAN ping yahoo site and etc...
I started to reboot my modem and at the same my time astaro but no glory even pinging single dns unable to get reply.I used fabricated cable cross or straight cable but no success.
I leave the astaro connected to the modem without connecting to their Internal network and monitored it even during my rest hours at home.Fortunately, I can ping my astaro public ip.ALAS!its working BUT all of a sudden my ping CUT it OFF.Im no longer access my clients astaro remotely.
I suspected its a modem problem.So this morning we asked help from ISP provider and changed the modem automatically.WOW it works fine.BUT same issue arise after an HOUR of pinging the public ip of astaro from our office,it cut its ping again.
I called our client and he informed me that they have internet connection.

Guys,Whats wrong with my config?Do I missed something based on my story?
The internet works fine on my client side but yet I cant ping or manage my astaro remotely?
I found out that the LED on my ETH1 port shows RED ligth.
Im a little bit confused because on our other client ETH1 port LED show RED and GREEN lights.

Im running out of solutions in this weird problem.
I performed alot of troubleshooting but still no glory.
If anyones know please need your help or support.

    Hi, there are setting for Ping under Network Security-PacketFilter-ICMP

    For web admin, you need to allow remote access under Management-WebAdmin-Access Control-Allowed Networks.

    Have you done that?

    Ive done that already,but no success.
    Today I cant remote my client astaro unlike last night I can manage to remote my astaro.
    This is my first time encountering such uncommon issue which hard to figure out whats wrong behind.

    Where did you set the gateway address?
    You only need to set gateway once.  Setting it on multiple interfaces is usually bad.

    Hi Fellas,

    The problem was partially soved yet subjected for monitoring.
    We had a minor problem on the part of my clients ISP.At first I suspected
    it was modem fault, but, on the ISP side they insisted it was astaro fault.But we can predict astaro works fine after some deep testing on my clients network.The modem and the ISP line some sort of the cause of the problem.
