Email Report sent when virus detected

Does AWG7 have the ability to send the admins an email when users hit a website that has a virus detection?  I have looked at the Notification section but only see "Virus scanner clamd not running - restarted" for notifications.

    Not currently, but that would be a good idea.... try submitting your suggestion at Astaro Gateway Feature Requests ..

    If you truly need such a thing, there are two options. Astaro Report Manager has customizable alerts, which can be setup to notify via email on a given event. you would simply setup the correct filter to match for a virus detection in the log. A second lighter weight option would be to setup a syslog server which did the same thing. For example, the pro version of Kiwi syslog daemon can generate alerts on matches in event logs. Both options would cost money.

    I would generally recommend against trying to do this. It may seem like a good idea at first thought - but from customer experience, I can say that such alerts are of minimal use. They are only telling you that the firewall did indeed do its job. I have seen users implement exactly this before, but  usually they eventually shut them back off, or end up ignoring the notices.  That said, if my recommendation does not apply to your need, then this can be done now.

    This would be a great feature request.
    Even to have this available to turn off.

    I myself like to know that the damn thing is doing what it is supposed to.
    As no UTM will protect you 100% of the time and new threats are comming out every hour, I would use the alert to block the site in question just as an additional step for security.

    Thats just me. 
    I even have my own domain blocked because it is un categorized [;)][8-)][:O][:@]
