Hi !

Dear friends ,

yet another basic quastion !



can you please tell me which is best of connecting internet to astaro (terminating in to astaro box )

1what if i dont have staic connection (ip) ,i have to use adsl connection with dynamic ip and use adsl router where lot of time we face problem with port fowarding/port blocking (how do avoid this)

2if my isp give me a ethernet cable and terminate in pc (now in astaro) where i have to type isp provided user name and password in browser then only you login and same way you logout

    It sounds like you need to choose one of the three PPP types in the definition of your External interface.

    You may want to check with your ISP about setting up your modem in bridged mode. Then you can plug the cable (cat5) coming from the modem into the external interface and use the Astaro box for all yhour needs. As BAlfson said in the last post, just select the proper mode on the external interface.
