backup

Hi !

How i can restore my system back to 7.395 or 7.4 as i have take the backup 
is there any  difference in backup taken by admin and backup taken by system 
can i use system itself (from asg server console) to restore backup if my gui not working /unable to boot system with backup util (backup.plx ????) 

like ====== backup.plx -i cfg_4817_1235293707


sorry friends i am new to astaro please correct me if i am wrong

    If you have an unencrypted copy of the backup (.abf file), try putting it on a USB drive and booting the ASG, it should see, import and restore from the backup automatically.

    Very very sorry to reply late ,i was gone out of station for some seminar come back today only and first thing i try as you say and it says while booting backup from so and so  but still i am not able to fix it still its running trouble 7.4 vesion ,


    in 10 Days i am going to installed my first ever astaro security  Appliances (220 fully loaded ) in some other state

    The backup is only a configuration backup.  It is not a "system" backup.  If you need to change the version of the Astaro, you must install that version.

    In general, you can restore a 7.306 backup on a 7.400 machine, but you probably can't restore a V7.4 backup on a V7.306 machine.

    Search around here for instructions to restore from the command line.
