'Host Not Found' page on newly installed Web Gateway 1000

Hi Guys,

Wonder if you can help me.

We have a Web Gateway 1000 on a month's trial.  I have connected it between our firewall and internal switch to monitor all traffic but our users are all recieving the below screen when accessing the internet:



It says 'An error occurred while handling the request'

Error mesage: Host not found


The Web security settings are set to Allow All as default.

Could anyone advise me on what I can do to make it transparent to all users?

    Hi LoosInt,

    Dns is not configured.

    I assumed it would use the DNS settings of our firewall due to it being in Transparent Mode, have I assumed incorrectly?

    I haven't seen any Packet Filter options, but the Content Filters are as default.

    Configure your DNS settings on the Astaro...  I'd point the forwarders at the external ISP DNS Caching servers that your ISP should provide you IPs for.  If you are using any sort of AD SSO, configure a Request Route for your DNS to point to internal AD-enabled DNS Servers for your local domain name.  If you use internal DNS servers for any external name resolution, either configure them to point at the Astaro for external DNS name resolution, or add packet filters for DNS outbound from those internal DNS servers.
