Astaro doesn't include the vmware tools. VMWare tools provide better vga support, shared folder support, file drag and drop support, time sync, and automatic mouse capture and release. All except host/guest time sync are pretty useless to a cli environment managed remotely through a browser. Astaro supports NTP, so time sync is also not really needed either.

The VMWare tools are included in the VMWare images (you can find them here: http://download.astaro.com/ASG/v7/virtual_appliance/ ) ... I imagine that with the advent of VMWare Server 2.0 (I've just started testing it myself... I like that it now officially supports Ubuntu 8.04, sure installed smoother than the 1.xx versions), that we will see another image up there for VMWare Server 2.0 at some point. Currently there are images for ESX Server and VMware 1.xx available.
I am getting read to deploy an ACC server shortly on VMWare 2.0 ... I hope it works OK.
