End-User Portal Menus

I read a post that the menu for the end-user portal can not be custimized...

Then why does my end-user portal menu only have following 4 items?

Weclome | Remote Access | Change pssword | Log out...

When I log in I do not have the menus for the SMTP/POP Quarantine, POP Accounts or Whitelists... Why would these items not show up?

    Thanks for the quick reply... I have POP3 proxy with the anti-spam set to "Use spam filter". So I would expect to see the POP3 Quarantine link in the User Portal menu... but it is not there.

    The only way I can get to the Spam Quarantine in the through WebAdmin > Mail Manager

    You need to enable prefetch mode, and add at least one server to the prefetch-enabled list.

    Prefetch mode is optional (but recommended for not getting a replacement messages for each spam mail). Add your pop3-server to the server-list on POP3->Advanced, then you can enter your pop3 account information in the User Portal.

    Thanks Tom and frickler... that realy helped. 

    Do you guys know if there is a detailed doc that explains the Spam filter set-up as well as the User Portal in greater detail?

    The ASG Administration Guide is a great place to learn about the POP3 proxy as well as prefetch mode and other Advanced Proxy features...


    A good explanation of prefetch mode from the guide:

    "POP3 Servers And Prefetch Settings
    If the prefetch mode is enabled, the POP3 proxy periodically checks the POP3 server(s) for new messages. If a new message has arrived, it will be copied to the POP3 proxy, scanned and stored into a database on the security system. 

    The message remains on the POP3 server. When a client tries to fetch new messages, it communicates with the POP3 proxy instead and only retrieves messages from this database."


    There's a lot more good reading in the ASG V7.3 Administration Guide available in the KB
