Cache options

I have just ran across an issue with the display of a couple websites. One is my companies, where one page displays a last update time and date via an include page that displays the info from a mysql DB.

Any way... it seems that Astaro is chaching this page. (which it should since I have chache turned on). No what I need to know is where can I find the "Do not chache the following sites or page" settings.

I am guessing that it doesnt exist (since I couldnt find it) but wanted confirmation.

    Is your site setting sensible expiration headers?

    We have caching turned off at all the clients we support.  With internet download speeds being what they are and the diversity of what people use, there's almost nothing to gain.

    About the only reason to have it on is for software updates like the ones for Windows and the client-side AV tools.  For Windows, set up WSUS.  McAfee and others have similar tools that allow you to download updates for redistribution inside your network.

    I had to check since I wrote the page in question. The I am refering to has absolutely no header info at all. It is a php page that includes a banner page. The banner page queries a mysql table to display the last time the database was updated.
    When I opened the page it would show the last update of say 8am. I knew that was wrong because I had run 2 or 3 updates prior to that. If I opened the page from home it would show that the last update was 1130am.

    I also have a link to another .php page that is actually just a log file to track the updates and would also be cached. Again no header info in that file either.

    I also had several problems with a commercial site that we use (for credit card payments), when clicking on any link on the page nothing would happen. I originally thought they just had server/traffic issues, but found when I cleared/emptied the cache the site worked fine. And havent had an issue since the caching has been disabled. No clue if they use any headers.

    I just thought it was odd that there were no settings for the cache. My old proxy server had settings for pages/site not to cache and how often to check for updated pages or something like that. I cant recall exactly as that machince has since passed on and i found Astaro.
