THis morning our internet connection went down due to a power supply failure on a piece of external hardware. For some reason, the lack of internet access on the external side of the Astaro box mad the use of IE to access the box impossible. While trying to diagnose the problem IE would continue to display "connecting..." in the tab header but never give an error or diplay either the management or user console. I was able to immediately access both using Firefox.
We have had outages before, planned and unplanned, and I don't recall having this problem. I'm not blaming it on the 7.300 upgrade though since it has been a while since the last outage like this and I have no direct comparison. I couldn't find any reason the IE was unable to communicate with the internal side of the Astaro box. Immediately after the external internet device was replaced IE displayed the console login after having been connecting for over 20 minutes. Go figure...
Any ideas on what I am missing, other than the obvious rants about never using MS products, etc.
