I want to build an online secure backup system or become a provider. Do you know if astaro have something like that ?

No, but you could forward whatever traffic you want into an internal host, if you want to 'provide'.

There are LOTS of free, distributed file systems / internet backups.

I'm not using one, but I've recently heard of a free, GPL, one at http://allmydata.org/
