Donated ASG 220 and licensing

A member from our church has an ASG 220 that he would like to donate to us.  I have seen the product and it is still in the original box and looks new.

I think it has never been licensed and I see that all vendors sell the ASG with at least maintenance subscriptions.

So, will we be able to purchase a maintenance contract and subscriptions from a vendor that did not provide the original hardware?

    You do need to contact a reseller; if you are in the U.S. , Astaro sells all their products through resellers.

    You do need (at the very least) the maintenance subscription; this is what gives you official support and pattern updates for the IPS, etc.  If you want to use the Web Filtering features (blocking sites by category, etc.), you'll need that subscription as well.  If you need the Email Filtering features (blocking Spam, Email-borne viruses, etc.) that subscription also needs to be purchased.
