I just realized that the lm-sensors package is installed on ASG7.
I would really love to be able to check the system's temperature as we recently encountered some stability issues that might well be temperature-related.
Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to set it up correctly. Running sensors-detect crashes after scanning the ISA bus:
/dev/port: Operation not permitted
I tried to skip ISA and I2m scanning but /etc/init.d/sensors restart failes.
Running "sensors" after that states that "No sensors were found".
I have CentOS5 running on the exact same hardware and lmsensors works just fine there so it is not a hardware problem.
If anyone got this working, I would be very happy for any hints.
I think temperature monitoring should be included in any Astaro release. ASG sends emails about virtually anything but not if the system is overheating due to a failing fan.
BTW: Doesn't the LCD in some astaro-appliances show the system temperature? Where does it get the values from?
