Data Disk filling up

I've been running ASL for almost 2 years now and have been very very happy with it.  For the last week or so, though, it's been filling up its data disk and actually hit 100% a few days ago.  I went in and cleared out some files from one of the chroot-* directories, all named VS_*, and that seemed to do the trick.  Now, however, I'm again getting emails saying that the disk is filling up.

What should I do to fix this?

    It's not my logging partition that's filling up, it's my data partition, /var/something-or-other.  I'm not on the network where this system is so I can't copy and paste.  If necessary, I can do that tonight.

    The offending directory is /var/storage/chroot-cffd/var/chroot-ftp/var/ftp, and it now contains 52G of files since I purged it two days ago!  What is up here?

    The files again are all named VS_* and range between 2.0G and 497K.

    Total space on the /var/storage partition is 57.3G.

    I've now also noted that the files seem to be timestamped every 90 minutes.  I really need to find a solution to this problem and I'd really rather not wipe the box and start over!

    Out of curiosity, what's in the FTP files and what FTP traffic is passing through your Astaro?  Are you getting hacked or attacked in one way or another, or are the files only full of junk entries?

    I'd also suggest starting with analyzing where the data comes from; who uses the proxy in what way. Check the log files for anything that seems strange.

    I noticed mine filling up, and started getting warnings at 75%.

    It turns out my HTTP Caching (Web Security -> HTTP -> Advanced) was turned on. There is a Clear Cache button near the bottom. Clearing the cache freed up a bunch of space.

    It appears the cache is stored in:

    /var/chroot-http/temp

    Maybe check that.
