Astaro 7.2 Availability

I have been checking on Astaro daily and I am kind of puzzeled is it my proxy not getting the very latest pages, my ISP not grabbing the latest stuff or the dates on Astaro is wromg.

1) I saw the Announcement on Astaro.com about 7.2 General Availability May 20 2008.

2) I have been checking Astaro.ORG and I do not see the announcement.

3) Today is 27 May 2008, I see the Annuncement on Astaro.ORG it states MAY 19 2008 there is the announcement.

Up2Date ASG V7.200 GA released
May 19, 2008


4) But my Up2Date does not have it and it had been updating fine in terms of virus defs.


5) So I am confused if my proxy is not grabbing the updates pages for 7 days or what...

    On the dashboard  there is 1 Update(s) available for download but in the up2date  No updates available for installation  !!!
    so I am confused too.

    Hi there all, 

    you have to be patient, the astaro up2date servers will have heavy load throught the first 5 days. 

    the up2date is 130MB in size, and 19.000 ASG V7 installations try to download the update. This means our up2date servers need to serve more than 2.5TB of data.

    It can take 2-4 days until every ASG has successfully download the up2date.

    Hi Gert,
    v7.200 is on my beta ASG. Because it fails to update I assume all the apps stayed with 5the same version and I need to change the version file back release or 2?

    Gert has advised the beta testers there will be a seamless upgrade from 7.193 to v7.200 for the beta testers

    Hi All,

    Yes I can understand the part about Up2Date may take a while to download due to the number of installation.

    But my main concern is

    1) Astaro.com 20 May 2008 says it is available.

    2) After checking Astaro.org website everyday, Only today 27 May 2008, do I see the website saying it is available, But the date there states 19 May 2008 on the announcement but I only see it today.

    Thus I am also troubleshooting if my browser (firefox configured to clear all private data upon close) is not grabbing the latest website from astaro.org for the past few days.  I did turn on HTTP Proxy on the Astaro 7.104.

    [8-)] Looking forward to upgrade to 7.2

    Hi Alvin,
    I think you missed the fine print. From memory around the 20th was the release of v7.200 rc1.
    Today (27th my time) was the release of v7.200 GA.[:)]

    Well, up2date.astaro.com claimed the release of v7.200 GA on the 19th of May.

    Hi Guys,
    without wanting to start thread war (which can always be sewn back together) or be too picky, they also missed v7.192 and v7.193 (RC1) releases. LOL

    The _planned_ date of release was the 19th. The _actual_ date of release was the 26th. So your browser is doing fine, as well as your ASGs. In real life, not everything works out as planned [:)]

    Glad it is not my proxy or configuration giving problems.

    I hope this 7.2 solves the problem whereby SMTP Proxy Must point to something which keeps my port open as I use my ISP as smart host thus hope it can be closed just like during the 6.x[:)]

    Interesting thing:
    They dropped the support for the AV/IPS acceleration cards.
