Home User 10 IP Limitation

Can someone explain to me how the 10 IP limitation is calculated for home users?  I have received several e-mail notifications that I am close or over my 10 users, and I suspect it is because I have changed several IPs from DHCP to static.  I suspect that when I change the IP of a component in a given day, Astaro will flag it as two IPs used during that day.  Does a daily overage in one day add on to the next?  Is there a way to refresh the list?

    No daily averaging... the IPs "live" in the licensing DB for 7 days ... so if an IP has not been used for at least 7 days, that licensed IP is released.

    i have a small personal network (5 server and 2 pcs), but i have a 6000 email acount from my personal foro and i have more than 500.000 emails per day.. the home license can work?

    If you are a spammer, then that's a business license, but if you *are* a spammer I hope nobody sends you any firewall product.

    Forgetting for a moment 6000 email accounts and 500,000 mail messages...
    The home license 10 IP limitation shouldn't be a problem. You're still only protection 7 IPs behind your firewall. However, Isn't there a concurrent connections limit in the home license as well?

    Just out of curiosity... How does one host 6000 email addresses for personal/home use?

    Hi Loller:  when using a "home license - 10 IPs"... of course assuming under the guise of honesty that one IS indeed just under 10 computers... all those 10 computers (IP addresses) avail of the following services "concurrently" (or all at the same time):

    • packet rules
    • NAT
    • HTTP proxying
    • SMTP proxying
    • intrusion protection (ie: from P2P's, warez, etc)
    • and of course, my favorite... MONITORING, ACCOUNTING, and REPORTING!


    That's just to name a few that are enabled in the home edition.  Now when you exceed more than 10 IP's or computers, for example if you're using transparent HTTP proxying (which I love because it lets me monitor my users without intruding on their computers), only 10 computers can browse the internet at the same time, the rest will just get a "squid proxy error" or some other generic accessibility error which simply means the firewall is trying to limit access to only 10 IPs.  Same goes for the rest of the above services.

    And to the 6000 account guy a few threads ago... all I can say is:  WHOA! I bet you gotta have a helluva bandwidth and really souped up PC to run your "home license" firewall to cope up with all that concurrent traffic.  [H]

    Have you tried running an MTA on that?  [:O]
