Astaro locks up completely on failover to DSL

We have 8 sites with DSL as our secondary links for failover. All units are either 110/120 Astaro units. Most of the time when the units are given enough time to failover to the DSL link, they lock up. Logs for system and Kernel cease to be created after failover to DSL. Webadmin access stops, and ssh access hangs also. Of our 8 sites, many are Verizon DSL, but we also have Earthlink and Covad DSL. All interfaces are set for 1492 MTU, use PPPoe, and the DSL modem is set to bridged mode. 

On our testing, we've been successful with pulling the plug on the primary link, and it fails over to DSL, and establishes our VPN tunnels fine. It's when check IP is used, and layer 2 is still up on cable or FIOS on the primary link that the unit hangs. One of the interesting entries in the PPPoe log is the default gateway hasn't been replaced. The default gateway is selected for the backup interface, and is expected to be replaced on the failover. Unfortunately, because the unit locks up completely, there are no logs available to help identify the problem.

Anyone experiencing anything like this?

    I'd probably start a case with Astaro... this sounds like something their engineers will need to look at directly to debug.

    I opened a case on 5-1-08. I was told I would be contacted. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

    Hmm... are you in the U.S.?  I've never had to wait more than the time indicated by the customer's Maintenance agreement.

    I am in the US, and we have over 20 Astaro's with Platinum support on all of them. I received a call last Thursday which was nice, but haven't heard back since. This problem has been going on for months. I've called and left voicemails with no return call as of yet. We have many unresolved issues. I believe most of them can be resolved by configuration changes. But I would need someone to actually call and work with me on the issue to get it resolved.

    This DSL issue however, I'd be surprised if it's a simple configuration issue. This isn't just one site with an anomaly. We have 8 sites with DSL as secondary, 3 different providers, and all seem to lock up most of the time on failover. I don't see any reason why an Astaro should lockup when failing over to DSL. I feel confident is something is wrong with the Astaro itself. I'm surprised it's not yet listed as a known issue. I wonder if anyone else has looked on the system and kernel logs to see at time of failover to DSL, that all logs cease at that time. I've tested this while connected via SSH and Webadmin, and this unit totally locks up. The models are the 110/120 variety we have these issues on. Haven't tested our 220's. None of them have DSL as Secondary links set to failover.

    This was fixed in the linux Kernel changed in 7.2.  In 7.1 there was a Klips issue that was hanging the Astaro when the primary link would failover to the DSL secondary links.
