What happens when License expires?

Hi,

Been getting quotes for a renewal for our 25 user license last week and am thinking about going from 25 to 50 users....

Got an email from my astaro box today telling me ' License expiry: a feature will expire ' - Your securEmail license subscription will expire in 14 days ' 

Now, does that simply mean I will be unable to get any more up2dates - or does it really mean that in 14 days my emails will cease to work ?

    When maintenance expires, no more updates... when the subscriptions (web security, email security, etc.) expire, those features quit working.  The proxies all still function even with a base license, but the AV / Content Filtering will stop working.

    So to clarify what Bruce said, you will still receive your e-mails, but they won't have been scanned for maladies.

    Thanks for the replies guys, I've been distracted with other thing and have come back to this to find I've got 4 days to go on my primary firewall!!

    I asked the original question regarding a backup / test firewall

    I'm relieved to say the least!

    Just had a thought, I can live without AV on the SMTP proxy ( we use a 3rd party anyway ) but how will this affect http content filtering ?

    If you have licensed Web Security, and it expires, the proxy will continue to function, but ALL filtering will stop... all sites will be let through, no AV scan, etc.
