Wireless Support

I recently found out that this version of Astaro does not support any wireless at all. I am wondering if there are any linux firewalls that let a wireless adapter in the system work as an access point, It would seem Astaro supported this in the past, but no longer... suggestions?

    I've got an extra ethernet adapter with a Linksys WRT54G connected to it... use the LAN, not WAN, port on the Linksys, and turn off the DHCP server on it.

    I might try that, but looks like since there is no way for me to up my ip's unless I cheat and put things behind another router astaro is not the product for me, thought it was the best of the linux firewalls, but not so much if you cannot use it and cannot buy additional ip's.

    Looking at smoothwall now, also securepoint seems to be just as robust and has a free version, do not know what limits there are yet, just starting to wipe the astaro box in prep for something I can actually use... went over by 4 ip's... go figure

    Do all 14 devices use the internet? If not, give them static IPs, instead of using DHCP, & they shouldn't get counted.

    The 2 printers do not access the internet, I know of no way to force the hdhomerun to use a static ip, it requires a dhcp server which I suppose I could enable on my windows home server and take some of the units (2 printers, 1 hdhomerun and the hava) away from Astaro from seeing them, but once I start down that road I might as well look into ISA server or Kerio or some other method of getting it done, the box I built can run any gateway / firewall software... it is a bummer though, seems alot of people would pay to up their ip's to 25, hell I would give them 100 or so bucks a year which is about what it costs for AV on each machine (most come in 3 packs now). I am considering just putting my firebox 700 or 1000 back into use, webblocker still blocks everything and I think security is still there, just no AV, I do have spam blocker which still updates itself.

    Will keep playing around, and see what happens...
