    You can run it as either, or both at the same time. 

    Astaro has a very nice setup for Network Security, it also has WWW/FTP/EMAIL proxies available.

    For network security you're looking at...

    • NAT
    • Packet Filtering
    • Intrusion Protection
    • QoS
    • Anti-DoS
    • Anti-Portscan
    • More


    For proxing you're looking at...

    • Transparent or User Authenticated
    • Anti-Virus
    • Content Filtering
    • Exception lists
