Performance under heavy load

HI guys.

After moving to Astaro half year ago, I have noticed that surfing speed (accessing time and end of downloading page time) is quite slow - 10 to 40 seconds.
This situation getting much worse under heavy load.
Some time I have to stop the HTTP proxy, so my users can use the Internet.
All other services like streaming media, downloading files, Skype and so on, works great.

I'm having Astaro 7.101, Dell 1900 DCx2, 4GB Ram.
CPU: 30%-40%
About 500 computers to support, 8,000-10,000 concurrent connection at rush hours.

I would like to hear from other Admins of medium and big organizations about there impression, and whether they experience the above phenomena.

    Checked it - Not quite.

    I have opened a few tickets concerning this subject, but it seems Astaro guys can't find the reason.
    It was supposed to be OK after upgrading to 7.1 but it seems to get even worse.

    do you have anti-virus on? if so try turning it off completely. It's a huge performance sucker and it's effectiveness is questionable.(ZD did a comparison of various UTM's and most of them had bad performance when a/v scanning was on). I have also never had http a/v catch anything in the 3 years i have deployed it in various flavors. If you have desktop a/v deployed and you keep it updated firewall http a/v scanning is questionable in terms of performance and effectiveness anyway.
