I'm being obtuse i just can't figure out getting the astaro to join AD. The AD domain is faithsbc.local and the firewall's hostname is firewall.faithsbc.local. I'm curious as to the exact procedure for getting this to work as i've read the docs and perused the forums and for some reason i can't get the firewall to join. I know it's me..i just don't know what i'm not doing..

have you checked /var/log/fallback.log if there are any errors appearing there?

no but i will. I get joining the domain failed in the webadmin. I'm just not wrapping my hear around the proper setup in the webadmin to get it to connect.

*update*I'm not seeing any AD obvious errors in the logs.

Many comments about .local domains.
I was having the same issue and this post allowed me to join my domain. [:)]
