Logging in as root

I have factory reset one of my 425a appliances to v7.011 and changed the root password for shell access. When I try and login using putty, I get an access denied but I can login using the loginuser and password.. I have received instructions on how to deactivate the hardware accelerator and was trying to achieve this via the shell

Any ideas please?

You have to login as the loginuser account, and then issue the su - command to switch to root.

Yep, login as Loginuser, then enter su , then enter the root password.

Hi there,

this has been added as 90% of the automated ssh brute-force login tools only the user root. Therefore we disabled direct root login.
