The hardware acceleration is a physical card used on the ASG 425 and 525 models. Helps to speed throughput on the IPS and AV scanning. Otherwise for software and other ASG units such as 120, 220, and 320 this isn't available as a selection.
Even if it were available (you can find this card online) as an option in the software license, the card is rather expensive by itself... more than $1000.00 alone (maybe closer to $2000.00 ... I was curious as you were once and checked for myself).
Hardware acceleration is really only noticable at higher traffic levels -- it does help significantly, though.
