astaro web interface problem (urgent plz!)

hello!

i installed the astaro firewall v 7 today with all updates. i configured it for our costumer. everything worked (ipsec / spam protection / packet filtering / vpn /nat and so on). i turned on the astaro end user portal an changed to port to 5555 (i do that on every astaro where we use this tool and never had problems). after this i was not able to connect to my astaro webadmin page which is on port 3333. i am also not able to connect to this port with telnet

i am not able to connect to the end user portal also. i only have the possibility to log on to astaro if i do that localy. the webadmin service is running. i did not change the permissions from where i can connect to the webadmin interface. 

is there anything i can do to check why i am not able to open the webadmin interface (or reset the port and permission to any)? 
i do not have any backups, because its the first day in use. it would be perfect if i do not have to install und configure everythin again.

    no nothing of that helps.

    i saw the the webadmin service httpd is not running! the display information was wrong or not actual. i am not able to start the webadmin service - it simply fails. i used vi to view httpd conf - seems all the be okay, but there must be further configurations in other files. i am not a linux / unix specialist, so its very hard for me to find the config files.

    situation now: i am not able to start the webadmin service. other services are running perfectly. also ssh is running but i cannot use it.

    if we do not find a solution i have to reinstall und reconfigure it all again :-(

    Hi,
    please take a look into the logfiles and see if you can find anything which might be connected to this. Reading your posting, a good place to start would be the httpd.log in /var/log.

    first of all thanks for your help.
    i talked with one of my colleagues which knows much more about linux/unix than i. we found out the he always tries do bind the port 5555 for the end user portal on adresse 0.0.0.0. we checked some configs also in chroot-httpd but could not find a way to start the httpd service. we also got some other error message, however i can`t remind it exactly after a 14 hour workday. 

    it`s a pitty that i cannot spend more time for this issue. tomorrow i will install another machine, configure it again und change the system. the same probleme should not happen twice ;-)

    Hi,
    binding to 0.0.0.0 is not a problem, this means it will listen on all interfaces. A shame we couldn't get to the root of the problem, but good luck with your new installation [:)]
