Feature request. Proxy autoconfiguration.

Could we have a proxy autoconfiguration feature in Astaro?
(Similar to wpad.dat)

Basically, what to do with HTTPS requests, which sites to proxy and which not to proxy, based on source network etc.

I know some of this functionality is available in Proxy config, but this is more for configuring the client end, especially for laptops, so when they are out of the office for instance, no proxy is used.

At the moment we're defining a wpad.dat file via DHCP in Windows.  But it's not ideal.  This feature should NOT rely on being issued DHCP info from Astaro itself. (If possible).

    Why not just add the proxy settings via the login script for the user? You can then specify a logoff script which resets these values for users that log off of your network and work remotely or off site. I bit of nasty VB scripting using WMI or WSH will do the trick.

    Problems with people hitting Sleep instead of logging off etc...

    We have a LOT of notebooks vs desktops.

    Some method of auto setting proxy whilst connected to Astaro would be nice.
    On second thoughts, if this ability was added, I'd be happyish if it was via DHCP in Astaro using DHCP option 252.
