To say it in one sentence:
If you use features like single-virus scan (HTTP, SMTP), IPS
and spam recognition ASG 220 in my opinion hasn't enough memory and/or one hard disk isn't enough (ok, depends on number of users
etc).
The performance situation with a newly installed V7 is even
worser than with V6. I made the upgrade also because I hoped
to have faster webadmin access. But that's not case. Within
long lists like NAT-Rules and IPS-Rules yes, but in cases
where especially the harddisk is working hard, not.
And there are too much situations where I have to re-login again.
I think the reason for this bader situation is especially the
new httpproxy service. It sometimes used until 60% of the whole
RAM serving not more than 10 users. More about that in the proxy
part of this forum soon.
Well, there are a lot of new useful features, so that I'm nearly
sure that I will not regret this upgrade in some weeks, when
the situation gets hopefully more an more stable.
What is your opinion ?
