Help Please! How to integrate with Astaro 220

Hey Everyone,

We are running an Astaro SG220 (hardware+software) and had the following questions:

We will be switching from our 3rd-party based email hosting service to our OWN in-house Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

What's the best way to integrate the Exchange 2003 server into the Astaro Security Gateway so that it is able to successfully send/receive/scan/monitor email on our server?

Our current set up is fairly simple: SBC HighSpeed DSL Line --> Router --> Astaro (a file server is in that mix as well).

Now we will be running a Dell Server that will replace our File server and also act as the server hosting the Exchange.

Some help as to how to best integrate the Exchange 2003 with the astaro would be GREAT!!

    Hello Dakrisht,
    you can use the SMTP Proxy of the Astaro Firewall to scan all the Messages.
    For installation instructions please consult the Administrator Guide...

    Hi Medic,

    Do you know of more detailed instructions?

    I don't have an administrators guide (except the original instruction manual that came with the ASG 220 - but that does not tell me how to set it up)

    Is it simply a plug and play operation? Configure the new Dell server we bought (that will be running the Exchange 2003) to use the Astaro somehow?

    You don't need to configure Exchange.

    Just configure the SMTP proxy on Astaro to forward emails to the Exchange server.
    I suggest you make the Astaro box external IP = your primary MX record for the domain/s you are using.

    Astaro will then intercept mail sent to your domain, scan it and then forward to your Exchange server once it's all configured.

    It is beyond the scope of this forum to provide step-by-step instructions on such things, you should look at the documentation available free of charge from Astaro. www.astaro.com
