Has anyone actually implemented the Http Proxy feature of an Astaro device in an Enterprise environment with ANY measure of success? By Enterprise I mean 500 users or more using AD or Edirectory Authentication.

    Are you wondering if it's been done, or are you having problems?  It's not clear from your post.

    Yes I have deployed a pair of astaro appliances in an enterprise environment with approximately 500 users running http proxy and also using the http proxy profiles as well

    I have a pair of 425s that I"m using\testing for http proxy/content filtering ONLY for about 100 users but I need to use it 500. They both seem pretty slow for what they're doing. I've had Astaro log in and "tune" my version 6 and it's actually not too bad as long as no one tries to download anything large (over 500mb) cause then the virus scanner hangs. My version 7, 425 is another story. Identical configs, Astaro has tried tuning it but calling it slow is an understatement and I'm at the point where I can't keep putting in service requests for these things. Between the slowness, the "uncategorized website" errors, the pages not loading, java problems, now Edirectory authentication is broken in version 7.006 and 7.007. There are just SO many little things that are wrong I don't know if it's worth continuing. Case and point, I have another post in the http proxy section about a couple of websites nobody can get to when using version 7. I've had a ticket open for over 2 weeks and still no resolve. I just want to know if I should stop trying and just use them for something else. So, I guess after that ramble my question is does anyone get satisfactory performance with a user load of around 500? Thanks for letting me ramble.

    What's being downloaded via http that's over 500Mb?

    Not that you shouldn't want to go from v.6 to v.7, but is there a reason you can't run under v.6 while they get it straightened out?

    I'll try your v.7 problem websites.  I can't run the test from where I'm at right now.
