How To Run Setup Wizard

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. installed the software from cd and now want to access the webadmin interface for the first time. after filling in the requested information like hostname etc. and clicking on the submit button the wizard comes to a complete halt.
Even worse, it appears as if the webserver is hanging. every further access to the webinterface times out.
my only solution to the problem ist restarting the gateway and ending up with the setup wizard locking up again.
it seems to be impossible to configure this soft.

It happened to me, too with the 7.005 ISO that after installing the interface kept saying "hit SHIFT+REFRESH to access backend"

..i had to restart the system from the console...

At first i thought the system was just busy...but after 15 mins...still not coming back...clearing the cache of the browser didn't help either...

Please can you post some machine spec's so we can see if there are any similarities

Its very unhelpful saying that you are having problems but not posting anything to help the other members help you...

You can only re-run the wizard by either running a factory reset on the appliance itself, or by going through webadmin>management>>system settings>reset configuration now>run factory reset.

this will clear all your config, and rerun the wizard.

I use the following Hardware.

Dell Dimension 8200
Pentium 4 1.7GHz
512 MB Ram
20GB ATA Disk as shipped at the time from Dell

to the already installed network card, again as shipped, I added 2 more of the same network cards. they are recognized as DEC Tulip Chipset 10/100Mbit Network Cards during installation.

we are not event that far in the installation process to get to anything in the webadmin interface that would allow us to choose a system reset. the only thing asked is the hostname, password for the admin account, location etc. thats it.

resetting anything cannot be the solution to someting that has not yet been configured.

I have to disagree. The astaro wizard is a run once setup. Meaning that if for any reason you choose to not run it first thing, or you close the session, or it expires, the wizard will not re-run. 
Thusly to re-run it you  have to factory reset the appliance if you do not have webadmin access. 
If you have webadmin access, you can run a factory reset under system settings, regardless of how much/little configuration is on the box.

your absolutly wrong.

that is the problem we are trying to tell here on the forum. the wizard after hitting the submit button does NOT continue. I suspect that all of the information filled in the entry fields on this very first page are never executed and stored in the configuration. thus the next time you start up the box, the admin interface comes up with the very same first page.

other question: how do you do a factory reset on the appliance itself, as in my case the webadmin interface is not of any help at all (there is no such thing as management>system settings>reset configuration now>run factory reset), I never get that far.

I just installed V7.005 and when I first browsed to the back-end, it started a setup wizard. Something happend (I think inactivity timer) and I no longer see this wizard. Where can I activate this wizard for a second time?

If you are having other troubles getting any farther for any reason, and that's a software solution, I would just re-install. since at that point sounds a bit like a bad install more then anything else. 
For appliacesm 220 and up-you can reset freom the LCD on the front. 
!20, requires a reimage-
To reimage an appliance, you use a usb cdrom drive and ISO image, which I believe you can get from your reseller, they have access to it. (ISO) 
 
Personally I skip the wizard entirely when doing setup, I don't honestly think it's the wisest way to config.

I reinstalled the software 3 times without getting any further. I think I just give up and try a older version that already worked. seems to me as if this version has not been tested enough.
