V6 to V7 Update Questions..

Running an AS320 with v6.  Tried to update to V7 and it destroyed it. That's not the issue, I have it back up and running on V6.

I want to try upgrading it again, here are a couple questions I have.

- How do i do a successful inplace upgrade (From the UP2DATE Page)?  When I say it blew it up before, it blew it up. It was nothing to do with the :4444 thing.  I believe that I was on 6.311 but it could have been 6.310. I know it was pretty current, otherwise it wouldn't have let me do it at all.

- Say I end up using the Silent Install CD instead of the inplace, cause I know that works, how do I import the config that I had with v6?  When I tried to import it before, it gave me a "Backup Corrupt" with no other useful information.  I saw some information indicating that the v6 file needed to be converted, but I can't figure out how to do this or if it is really necessary.

What are my options? Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the wrong forum btw, not sure how that happened.

    I can't get to the logs, so no they don't help. I'm telling you, it destroyed it. I also don't know where to find the option for the v6 config import.?  Can you point me in that direction?

    I did review that other post and it provided some insight.  Thanks again.

    Indeed, to get to the logs you'll need to restart the upgrade process and monitor progress via the console port on the Astaro.

    After upgrading to V7 go to: Management, Backup / Restore, (third tab) V6 backup import, use the folder icon to browse to and select the V6 backup file, click Start Upload

    After the import you'll find that a lot still needs manual configuration. So make good notes before upgrading.
