If I am correct the Astaro Security Gateway uses ClamAV for its AV scanning solution?

If so, does anyone have any ideas how this will affect Astaro?:

Why would it? ClamAV is still going to be opensource.....

Hi there,

it won't affect us in a bad way, we have already validated this with sourcefire.

The good thing about it is, that we can now expect that the clamav pattern will significantly increase quality.

Yes, I don't see how Sourcefire acquiring the rights hurts the product, if anything it should be better.

They'll probably start charging for fresh definitions, like they do with Snort.
