Hi folks.
I'm a systems and network admin, looking at possibly deploying ASG on my home network to provide protection and separation of our private LAN and a WLAN that we provide for house guests.
I'm still configuring the box before deploying it, but I was wondering if someone can describe how the system handles connections in excess of the number licensed.
Right now we have eight machines (including TiVo and media servers) on our home LAN, and when we have friends visiting it's entirely possible that we'll exceed the 10-connection limit of the free Home license. What happens then? Do new connections cause old, inactive connections to be dropped, or are the new connections simply denied?
I could NAT our guest wireless network so the ASG only sees one IP for any and all guests, but is that kosher under the Home license?
What's the next step up from the free Home licence? Is there a cheap SOHO license or does it jump straight up to SMB levels?
Thanks in advance,
Jon.
