Asg220 Cpu 90-100%

Made the mistake of updating to V7 two weeks ago....nothing but problems ever since.

I have a proccess that seems to be eating up my CPU.

PID - 4133
Command - named

CPU pretty much runs at 99-100% all the time. If I shutdown, the system seems to be normal for an hour or two then the numbers go right back up.

Has anyone else seen this?

this is a new one. Usually it's been pfilter-reporter. Bind is hosing you. open a support ticket..[:)]

My advice..go back to your previous version if you can.

Ensure you dont have circular DNS lookup. Ie Astaro set to check internal DNS, which is set to check Astaro DNS and so on...

Your ASL DNS proxy should typically be set to your ISP's DNS
Internal DNS set to Astaro.

Have seen named chew 100% of CPU time once before when there were two network definitions for the same IP address. Easy to do when you have 100+ network definitions. Might be worth checking there too.

I've only seen it when we tried to enable P2P stuff on recent V7.

have you defined internal (network) in the dns allowed section?
If you have ANY you will get problems sometimes

Also what spec is your Server

I must say v7 is starting to turn into a great firewall [:)]
