Reporting HTTP Site Usage by IP

Hi All,

We have ARM 4.6 but it doesn't do the reports we want specifically the ability to track which sites a user (via source IP) has visited during a day.

Back in v6 this functionality used to present.

Can anyone remember what tool that was used in v6 to produce that report?

Can anyone suggest another free-ish tool to create the report I want (against ASG7)?

    Currently there isn't functionality to do this in V7.  As I recall, in the original release notes for V7, it was mentioned that this is a feature that would be added back in future.
     
    In V6, this report was part of the accounting feature set.
     
    Your best bet for now if you desperately need this information is to come up with a script of some sort to parse the log file.  The log file analyzer named Sawmill might be able to do it, but I'm not certain if it supports the V7 log file format yet.

    It sounds like the improved web security reporting of 7.006 should do the trick for you. The "Top domains by user" report is exactly what you are searching for, or not?

    The reporting in V7 is an improvement, but there is one serious bit lacking. I need to be able to export the report I have on the screen so I can put it into the Director's report.

    In the meantime I have had to resort to pushing the logs into SQL2005 and parsing the HTTP proxy data to get a report my Directors needed urgently. I don't want to end up writing a full reporting suite just yet, so please help us out there.

    An export button (to csv) would be a very nice thing to have at the moment.

    I agree - the reporting is borderline useless and requires much laborious cutting and pasting. In Astaro v6 this report was produced by a product called Sarg (if I remember correctly) and was extremely useful and accurate.

    hi there guys, 

    rome wasn't build in a day.
    We are working on that extending it bit by bit. 

    Sarg was also not exportable, the only difference is the sarg created linked reports, which will be available in the next updates.

    Also Sarg did not calculate the surf time correctly, it only aggregated the time the system spent to process the requests.
    Our duration is a pretty exact timeframe the user actually surfed and visited that site.
