possible 7.004 bug

I seem to be having constant issues with the webadmin since updating to 7.004.

The gui just locks up and doesn't change screens any longer. I have to hit refresh for the browser (doesn't work in webadmin) and login again.

It's not a time out issue because it happens sometimes after applying changes.

Has anyone else seen this?

Fortunately, I have not run into the issue. What web browser are you using? I believe the webadmin interface was built for firefox.

I am using Firefox. I had to do a reboot last night to actually fix another issue with 7.004 update that actually did require a reboot even though the update said it didn't require one.

That issue was fixed, I'll have to see if this issue is fixed with it.

Hi,

same experience here with 7.004, especially the quarantine manager locks up on regular basis. If that happens, the entire interface is unresponsive and you have to login again.

Yep, same here - quarantine manager is the worst culprit for locking up.

The same problem here, I tested on different (6) installations. Mostly at quarantine manager. I tried with firefox 2.0.4 and IE7 always the same.[:O]

It may be a memory usage issue. Apparently there will be significant memory usage optimizations in 7.005.

Due to memory utilization issues (centering around the HTTP Proxy) in Version 7.003 and earlier (and still present in 7.004, just takes longer to show up), the swapfile goes nuts, leading to all sorts of things slowing down / locking up... as mentioned already in this thread, 7.005 is supposed to address this issues... I'm hoping that's the case.

This is due to a couple of what i would classify as misconfigurations from astaro. They have the machine set to swap like mad AND have squid chewing up ram like there's no tomorrow. I am testing some changes to the configs..i'll post them if i find in initial tests that they work.

FWIW, 7.005 has resolved the swap / proxy issues we were seeing before... been running hard since 7.005 was released, and no outages yet...

actually astaro's swap usage is excessive even with a gigabyte imo. I have managed to take my swap usage from 600 megabytes down to 100 megabytes with a squid tweak and by moving vm=swappiness to zero.
