Odd Password Issue

I've had an ASG V7 box running for a few weeks now.  This evening, I tried to access the web interface.  Amazingly, none of my passwords would work.  I know what my passwords WERE set to, so I was scratching my head.

I came here to do a little STF'ing.  I found several posts regarding passwords and the web interface.  I stumbled across one post that mentioned a reboot fixed his/her issue.

After rebooting my box, I'm now able to log in with the password that I was using before.  I know I was typing the password correctly, because I tried it from multiple machines and typed it one letter at a time.

Any ideas why this happened?  Since this thing runs on linux, I would expect it to be up for years and still be able to log into it.

OBTW, the root password on the console was blank, too.  Very odd.  I'm going to verify that root has a password post reboot as well....

    Astaro 7.002 didn't accept my password and I had to do a factory reset then restore from backup.  Soon after I did this someone posted that they had the same problem when they changed the subnet Astaro was on.  I also changed my subnet and it was around the time I had the password problem, but i don't know the exact timing.  Did you change your subnet recently?
