I use a lot of the features at home. If I was using it at work I am sure my manager would take me out and shoot me. Still not that stable, unexplained crashes/high memory/high CPU with nothing in the logs. Not all the reports are there, okay if you can write your won reporting scripts.
It is getting better, I would at least wait until v7.004 gets into production.
But, having said all that, it really comes down to what hardware you intend to use it on and what features you use.
Disable IPS and all the peer to peer stuff and only use the http proxy in transparent mode you would probably get way with it. The smtp proxy doesn't add the legalise yet to outgoing mail. I can't test the smtp proxy properly, I don't have an e-mail server at home.
Packet filter works well along with some of the other features.
Does ASL 7 can be used in production at this time or not enough stable ?

We have a site running a 220 that is in production with 7.002. We're using most of the firewall features, plus about 20 users setup with SSL VPN (which is very nice).
It's definitely getting better... the main reason we're not deploying it to our monitored customers yet is that they haven't released the new version of ARM to support it yet.
Too many issues with stability, POP3 prefetch, SMTP taglines on outgoing mail, missing reports, my proxy HTTP requirements and nastier(buggier?) license counting are keeping me on 6.304 which is rock solid. A lot of the new features in v7, which would entice me to upgrade, are not working yet.
Like Simon, I have ver 7 on a test box, but my production ASL units, two at the office and one at home, are still running ver 6.3. I would like to upgrade, in order to implement the SSL VPN feature, but I can't afford to have anything break in our office environment, so I'm holding off for now.
I setup a Test ASG220 last week, seems to work, but
there is no reporting like V6,
there is no accounting like V6,
there is no whitelist in the httpproxy profile when using blacklist profile.
Thats the main reason why I might wait until 7.1 or whatever.
Has anyone experienced issues with the New GUI? It happens often that both in SGA V 7.0 and ACC 1.4 the interface hangs in IE 7.xx...
Then we need to close the window...and log in again...
We have about 7 SGAs at customer's side and are planning for another 6 in the next two months... but after seing all the issues still open in V 7.x we are for sure sticking with the V 6.304 [;)]
