Pardon me for being optimistic, but we rolled out 7.001 on our production firewall to resolve a couple of issues with end user email management and port configuration control. Unfortunately the later is not included in 7.001 as we were led to believe and we haven't deployed the end user portal because of all sorts of other weird issues. This is the list of problems we are having, to the best of my recollection. And yes, these have been reported through the "official" portal.
* No outbound smtp with same configuration as 6.303
* File and email transfer failures over our wan for messages of any significant size
* E-directory support is not
* Random delays in server response and throughput
* No ability to set duplex or speed on the ethernet ports
* End user release of spam not reliable
* Email greylisting seems to function differently. In 6.303 we saw no significant problems receiving email but dramatically reduced the spam level. In 7.001 I have spent the last 4 business days trying to resolve why we aren't getting mail from gmail and yahoo.
* User interface is pretty, but the length limit on interface, host, network names sucks. If you don't remember the ip address of the item you are looking for you can't use the interface at all. Seems like someone would have noticed that!
Later tonite I am pushing 6.303 back onto the box and getting back to my real work.
