generated 34GB traffic by not using the net?

Hi,

my provider has presented me a bill with a few hundred bugs extra for traffic. The strange thing is that I was not a home for almost the whole month. The astaro box shows ~250MB traffic (accounting - on internal interface). There were no machines running. I just checked my mail twice. Could it be possible that the astaro box generated all the traffic??
I have automatic updates enables (asl - every day, virus every hour). But this should not generate this much traffic!? The month before, I had about 250 MB.
Any clue?

Someone here https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/114/t/73003 mentions mail prefetch uses a lot of bandwidth.

thanks for the reply.
I don't use mail prefetching or similar and running asl v6. So, any other explanation?

Hi phrator,

what kind of Box are you using and which software option di you have enabled?

34GB is no normal usage of ASG, it more seams that one of your proxies has been configured wrong and somebody on the internet started to use them as a relay.

It's a normal PC, with a home user license. There were the http and pop3 proxy running, but both only for the internal interface. I'm pretty sure that there was not possibility to use my machine as relay. I ran different online security scanners.
