CPU 100 % Usage

Hi @ all,

I was alway using Astaro, since Version 3 on (for example Dell Hardware),
now I have a new job in a new company and I decided to use again Astaro and I bought the ASG 220, Version now 6.303.

Since I have that, the Astaro hangs twice...

The one time, the display shows nothing any more and yesterday evening, the ASL stops working.... this morning, I have seen, that the CPU was at 100%, and I had to reboot it hard...

Where can I see the event, that is the reason for hangup?

The ASL must be available!!

Seeing you have an ASG appliance, have you logged a fault with your supplier or with Astaro?

Who put the v6.303 on it, was it an early version or just done in the last couple of days?

Did you logon to the console and have a look at "top" to see which applications are using the CPU?

Thanks, I have seen too late the great issue with the update...

I had still the 2.6.10.57, and so I renamed the versions file and reinstalled the update, now it is the version 2.6.10.58

Hope that fixes the problems, because I am normally very satisfied with the ASL.

I would bet that would fix it.. expecially if you are either using PPTP on the box, or are passing that traffic through for a user or 2...

Actually, PPTP as a VPN protocol is pretty weak (plenty of hacks for it available), we don't have any of our customers using it. Look at using IPSEC / L2TP.. much more secure. (Obviously, I'm not suggesting that as a workaround for your issue right now, you should update to the "good" 6.303)

My Astaro also hangs up twice today. I thought it is a matter of electrical issue. But I might doubt that it is the 6.303 version.

How can I check the CPU Load ?
